James Faxon is a cybersecurity executive and former Chief Information Security Officer with hands-on experience securing industrial environments across energy, manufacturing, and critical infrastructure. His work has consistently focused on protecting operational systems where safety, reliability, and uptime come first. He brings a practical approach to ICS/OT security, one that aligns cybersecurity controls with the realities of plant operations, engineering workflows, and production demands. James has led multiple large-scale initiatives involving IT/OT segmentation, monitoring, and convergence across complex environments without disrupting operations. At Newmont, he led a global program to converge IT and OT security using the Purdue Model and IEC 62443 frameworks. This included establishing a structured security architecture, implementing monitoring and response capabilities across operational environments, and building a combined support model that aligned IT, security, and site operations. At Marathon Petroleum, he was responsible for developing and implementing monitoring and response capabilities across operational and enterprise environments, improving visibility and detection while supporting safe and continuous operations
