How Do Executives Pitch Op-Eds Successfully?

A successful op-ed pitch for an executive contains four elements in order: a news hook that establishes timeliness, a specific original argument stated in one sentence, the executive's specific credential that makes them uniquely qualified to make this argument, and a brief indication of the article's structure. Pitches that lead with the executive's biography, describe the article without stating the argument, or fail to establish timeliness are declined without engagement.
